Noise check · 30 seconds
What’s that noise?
Tap where it’s coming from, then pick what it’s doing. You get what it often is, how soon to come in, and a text to us that’s already written.
1Where is it?
2What’s it doing?
Pick a spot first and the things it might be doing show up here.
What we do
Open a drawer.
Six things we do all day, with what each one starts at. Starting prices are real starting points: we give you the exact number before any work.
Conventional from $49, full synthetic from $79. New filter, up to five quarts, and we check your fluids, belts and tire pressure while the car’s up.
Pads, rotors, fluid and calipers. We measure what’s left on your pads and show you the number, so you decide with the facts in front of you.
We read the code, then test the part before we replace it. A code points at a system, not always at the part. The scan is $39; a full diagnosis is quoted after the scan.
We check pressure, look for leaks and test the compressor. If the system holds a charge we recharge it. If it’s leaking, we show you where before talking about a fix.
Four-wheel alignment with a printout before and after. Worth doing with new tires, after hitting a curb or pothole, or when the car pulls to one side.
New tires, rotation, flat repair and sensors. Do the penny test below and see where yours land.
Interlocked, like the real thing: one drawer at a time.
Tires
The penny test, done properly.
Stand a penny in the groove with Lincoln’s head pointing down. If tread covers part of his head, you have more than 2/32″ left. If you can see all of his head, the tire is done. Drag the slider and watch it happen.
Quarter test: same trick with a quarter. If tread reaches the top of Washington’s head, you have at least 4/32″ and some life left.
- Mount & balance
- from $29 / tire
- Rotation
- from $25
- Flat repair
- from $25
- Alignment
- from $89
- New tires
- quoted by size
Bring the size off your sidewall (it looks like 225/60R17) or just tell us the car. We quote the tires, mounting and balancing together, so the number you hear is the number you pay.
How we work
You say yes first.
Call or text first
Tell us what it’s doing. Often we can tell you what to check and whether it can wait until the weekend.
We look, then we quote
You get the price in writing, by text or on paper, before a wrench turns. No price over the phone that changes at the counter.
You say yes, then we start
If we find something else while the car’s up, we call you first. The bill matches the quote unless you’ve said yes to more.
The example above is made up, but the rule isn’t: nothing gets done to your car that you didn’t say yes to.
Hours
Checking…
Two bays and a small crew, so the last car in gets a full look, not a rush job. Text any time; we answer when the bays are open.
